Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez celebrated the new year with some energetic dancing at New York nightspot Glass House.

The teenage couple reunited at New York nightspot the Glass Houseafter each had performed live on TV shows - 17-year-old Justin on Dick Clark's 'New Year's Rockin' Eve' and his 19-year-old girlfriend on MTV's NYE in NYC broadcast - and wasted no time in getting on to the dance floor.

A source told E! Online: "Justin danced with Selena, showing off, picking her up and swinging her around like it was 'Dancing With the Stars'."

Following his dancefloor exploits, the 'Never Say Never' hitmaker later took over the DJ both, where he played 'Happy New Year', his new song with friend Jaden Smith.

Meanwhile, Justin has now amassed 16 million followers on twitter, making him the second most followed person on the social networking website behind Lady Gaga, who has 17.5 million followers.

He tweeted about reaching the milestone: "2012 is going to be so good. #16millionbeliebers, and I can already tell this year will be as good if not better than 2011."

he actress Zooey Deschanel has been talking to TheWrap about the pressures associated with writing a theme tune for a Disney soundtrack. She was initially asked to record a new version of 'Pooh'. The original theme tune to the adaptationsof A.A. Milne's popular children's stories was written by the Sherman brothers (who were also responsible for writing 'I Wanna Be like You' and 'Chim Chim Cher-ee').

Disney songs have a long history of becoming both popular and legendary compositions; a pedigree that dates back to 1940, with 'When You Wish Upon A Star.' Deschanel stated that she tried not to let that distract her from the job at hand: "I tried not to think about it, because I might be overwhelmed if I did." After recording her version of the theme tune, the filmmakers were impressed enough to ask her to write and record a song for the end-credits. The song that resulted turned out to be 'So Long', which became one of the film's two Oscar entries. She was then asked to contribute vocals to other songs on the film's soundtrack. Deschanel said that the process of recording for the film took part in stages, over the course of a year.

The theme tune, recorded by Zooey Deschanel, was produced by M. Ward, her fellow band mate in the band SHE & Him. Zooey also said that she called on influences such as Carole King and Harry Nilsson when writing and recording the tracks.

The 39-year-old actress voices a penguin called Carmen in her first ever animated movie, but and was reluctant to accept a bigger part because she isn't used to the genre.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I knew it was a small role when I did it. It was my first time doing a voice for anything so I didn't want it to be a big role because I didn't want to not be able to cope with it.

"I'm quite new to acting so I prefer to do little things that I think I will be OK to do, rather than bigger parts where people are thinking, 'What is she doing?' "

Despite 'Happy Feet Two' being her first taste at voiceover work, Sofia found the creative process "very easy" and accepted the offer "immediately" when she found out she would be acting alongside Robin Williams, Elijah Wood and Matt Damon.

The brunette beauty - who plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in TV sitcom 'Modern Family' - explained: "I wanted to do a film like this for kids and give out a nice message and it's not like I had to do hours and hours of research for this role. It was very easy. I knew I was going to be part of such an amazing cast so I said yes immediately."

She said: "I always try to put my characters as close to life as I possible can, but it's a high pricebecause I know it will take over sometimes."

She tried to goad Cooper into joining in with the strip by saying "You're a big square who won't let me have any fun. Your turn!" Anderson refused to join in and remained fully clothed.

The former American Idol rocker James Durbin married his girlfriend Heidi Lowe in the Santa Cruzmountains on New Year's Eve 2011. According to US Weekly, the couple, who have a son together - two year old Hunter - tied the knot in front of 85 guests, including fellow American Idol contestants Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhart and Stefano Langone.

The singer told US Weekly back in November that they would be keeping the wedding low-key; "We're having such a small wedding that it's not this big hassle that we can't handle. We're planning it all ourselves. We don't need a wedding planner. We're not that crazy about it, you know. It's not about everyone else. It's about us, and we're keeping that mindset." The planning for the wedding has been taking place whilst Durbin was on the road with the American Idols Live! Tour and workingtowards the release of his album Memories of a Beautiful Disaster. Bret Michaels went into the holiday spirit with a Christmas card. The 48-year-old singer posed for a card, which has been digitally modified and looks pretty awful. But, at least, he did it. He also revealed his holiday plans for Us Weekly. "My family wakes up at the crack of dawn. We grab guitars and jam!" he said.
